Genre: Horror
Review Written By: Paige

It’s been awhile since I watched this movie, years even, but I remember it like I watched it yesterday. It’s set in an American High School, that has a legend surrounding the school of someone murdering a student. Hollywood steps in, and they decide to film a movie about the alleged killings. So what happens? *gasp* The killings start again!! All in all, this is a complete B-list movie. The “blood” is so obviously fake, the acting isn’t that wonderful and it’s just so corny. There is one good scene, at least, a good morbid scene involving a dissection. In fact, I rented this movie from blockbuster multiple times just to watch this scene. Of course, this movie was made in 1987, and let’s face it, movie-making wasn’t all that advanced back then. Either way if you’re looking for corny Halloween movies, this should definitely make your list. Return to Horror High is definitely worthy of a few laughs.

Movie Featured: Batman: The Dark Knight
Director: Christopher Nolan
Cast: Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne, Heath Ledger as The Joker, Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent
Genre: Action
Review Written by:Sean

I can sum this movie up in two words: Simply Amazing. This movie was made extremly well, but be prepared: this is a pretty long movie it runs about 2 hours and 45 min long. The Dark Knight is worth every cent that you have to pay. The choice of actors was done extremly well. I, myself, really liked Jack Nicklson as the original Joker but having Heath Ledger as Joker was probably the best decision a director can make. The Joker in this film was disturbed, funny, and down right fvil and when I say fvil I mean he is the root of evil. The way that the Joker terrorizes Gotham City is down right genious. You might be wondering why I'm talking so much about The Joker, well the reason is because this movie is focused more about The Joker than Batman himself. I personally think that was a great move on Nolan's part so you could really get into how The Joker responds and what he is truely about. Harvey Dent, Gotham's White Knight, also plays a huge role in this movie as Gotham's District Attorney. He has some skeletons in his closet as well, but of course I am not going to tell you. This is a must see movie whether or not you are a Batman fan. This movie will make you laugh, cringe in your seat, and even give you goose bumps.

I give this movie a 5 out 5 if I could I would give it more.

Movie Featured: The Incredible Hulk
Director: Louis Leterrier
Cast: Edward Norton as Bruce Banner, Liv Tyler as Betty Ross, Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky, and William Hurt as Gen. Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross.
Genre: Action
Review Written by:Sean

The Incredible Hulk was a great movie most people would be hesitant to go see it with how bad the ratings where for the first film but they did a much better job with this one. The Incredible Hulk placed long after the first one Bruce Banner has ran away from the United States down to Brazil to try and get away from General. Ross. While down there he is trying any way possible to get a cure for the Incredible transformation he goes through, well I wont tell you everything but this movie is much much better than the first. The action scenes are incredible so that being said so are the special effects, There is one time in the movie where you hear the famous words of the Hulk "Hulk Smash!" They fit it in perfectly so it brought it that much closer to the comic and original cartoon series. Well this is a great movie so I say buy it. I give it a 4.5 out of 5

Set in the 1910s, this movie is about a sheltered 16-year-old girl named Winnie Foster who has always been taught to be a proper young lady. One day Winnie gets tired of her suffocating life at home and decides to walk around in the surrounding woods, getting herself lost. In the heart of the woods is where she meets Jesse Tuck, an unusual young boy who is full of life and loves adventure, and she immediately falls in love. Soon, she meets the rest of the Tuck family and notices they do everything like time was something they always had. With the Tucks, Winnie learns something that neither her parents nor a school could ever seem to teach her-- how to really live. Discovering the Tuck’s deepest secret, she must swear never to tell anyone, but maybe someone else already knows it. Follow Winnie on the journey of a life time (maybe even longer) in Tuck Everlasting.
I bought this movie the other day and I decided to finally write a review on it! [Haha] This movie is great! This is one of my all time favorite movies. Even my boyfriend likes it and he isn’t into these kinds of movies at all. Even though the movie was amazing, I think the novel is way better so if you like to read I suggest reading the novel. [I didn’t want to spoil anything, so this review was short. If you want to find out what happens then go watch it!]

Movie Featured: Hancock
Director: Peter Burg
Cast: Will Smith as Hancock, Charlize Theron as Mary, and Jason Bateman as Ray.
Genre: Action and Comedy
Review Written by:Paige

I went into this movie honestly thinking that it was just not the type of movie I wanted to see and that I would not like too much. The movie immediately jumped into the story line, which made the beginning take off and helped me get into the movie and by the end, I really did enjoy the movie. The premise is Hancock, a superhero, is not appreciated by the people of LA. He saves a public relations professional and in return the PR guy wants to help make the people like him. The catch, the PR guy is married to the one other person on the planet that has the same powers as Hancock, Mary, except he can't remember her.
The storyline then goes on to tell of their relationship and this is where I feel the movie could have been improved. I think the production team for the movie and the writers could have put more effort into explaining the characters' relationship and showing more that would have made us feel real sympathy for the plight of these people. Overall, this movie is worth it to see and is not only funny, but is an unconventional superhero movie, which makes itself stand out against movies such as Ironman, Spiderman, The Hulk, and Batman.

Movie Featured: Wanted

Director: Timur Bekmambetow
Cast: James McAvoy as Wesely Gibson,
Morgan Freeman as Sloan,
Angelina Jolie as Fox
Genre: Action all the way
Review Written by:Sean

Okay, I would just like to start off by saying this movie kicked ass! about 95% of it was action the other 5% was probably drama. Well this movie is about a guy named Wesely Gibson who has a every day normal life exept for the fact that he has these strange anxiety attacks that make his vision distorted and everything. Oh yeah and did I forget to mention that his dad who he hasn't seen in about 20 years is a super assassin that works for the secret organization called " The Fraternity" or so he thinks he is. Well I'm not going to tell you the whole story behind it but the Fraternity seeks him out to train him to become the number one assassin to kill his fathers killer.

This is a great movie if you like action. It is rated R so for all you little kiddies out there who want to see action, sex, and over all bad ass fight scenes, you're going to have to take your parents. Go see this movie! I give it a perfect 10 out of 10 and I don't usually even go passed 5!

Movie Featured: JUNO
Director: Jason Reitman
Cast: Ellen Page, Michael Cera, Jennifer Garner, Jason Bateman, Allison Janney, J.K. Simmons, and Olivia Thirlby.
Genre: Comedy/ Drama/ Romance

JUNO is about a unique 16 year old girl, Juno MacGuff (Ellen Page), and how her crazy life flips once she finds out she’s pregnant two months after having sexual intercourse with her best friend, Paulie Bleeker (Michael Cera). With help from her friend Leah (Olivia Thirlby), Juno decides to find a couple that she can give the baby to after she gives birth to it. And soon they find the perfect couple, Vanessa (Jennifer Garner) and Mark (Jason Bateman) Loring. Just wait until has to tell Juno her step mom, Bren (Allison Janney), and her dad, Mac (J.K. Simmons) about her pregnancy! And what will people think at school?! Oh no!!

I found this movie amazing. I thought it was going to be stupid at first because, I mean, who would want to see a movie about teen pregnancy? But I was totally wrong! It gave a funny little twist on a serious subject. I definitely think you should see this movie if you like Romantic Comedies. And, guys, it isn’t just for girls, I actually know a lot of guys who saw it and they loved it because it was pretty funny.

Movie Featured: I am Legend
Director: Francis Lawrence
Cast: Smith as Robert Neville
Genre: Action, Adventure
Review Written by:Sean

I am Legend was a very intense movie with alot of action and suspense. In 2009 some American Scientists have found a cure for cancer. When the scientist use the cure a violent biochemical disiese occurs from the cure and infects just about everyone in New York and turns the population into violent zombie like creatures. The few people that are not infected with it are imune to the sickness but soon get killed by the infected. Three years later a Army virologist Lieutenant Colonel Robert Neville is the last man in New York and he thinks he is the last person left on the planet. With no one around except for his faithful canine companion Samantha and the crazed zombie like creatures as his nieghbors he tries to find a cure for this horrible disiese to turn them back to normal. This movies CGI was amazing and its a must for everyone. The only thing I will give you that leads up to the story "is he really alone out there".

I give this movie a 5 out of 5 on my rating scale

Movie Featured: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
Director: Ken Kwapis Cast: Amber Tamblyn
Alexis Bledel
America Ferrerra
Blake Lively
Genre: Teen Drama, Comedy
Review Written by:Paige

This movie is a wonderful movie in it's own right although it does stray from the book quite a bit. However, it does accurately portray the themes of the book series. This movie makes you laugh, and want to cry and really brings the emotions of the book to the surface. It, of course, follows the plot line of the books, four girls that want to stay connected over a summer of being separated all try on pants that fit all four of their unique body styles. The actresses playing the four main characters do wonderfully and it is now difficult for me to not picture them as I read the books. I would definitely say to watch this movie, whether you've read the books or not.

Movie Featured: Next
Director: Lee Tamahori
Cast: Nicolas Cage as Chris,
Julianne Moore as Callie Ferris,
Jessica Biel as Liz
Genre: Action/ Suspense
Review Written by:Sean

This movie is a great combination of action and suspense. This movie is about a man named Chris that can see two minutes into his own future, he cant see into anyones else future nor can he see into the future any longer than two minutes until he sees a vision about a girl named Liz but he notices that this vision doesnt happen in the two minutes time he experiences it; but I wont give any more of the movie away thats for you to find out. There are some pretty cheesey special effects in some parts of the movie but over all I believe it was a great movie, this movie just came out recently and wasnt a major box office thriller so it may be harder to find than most movies would be. If you like suspence and action with a twist of super natrual oomph to it this is the movie for you so I suggest buying this movie only if your into those kind of movies so if your not just rent it to see how you like it.

I give this movie a 4.5 out of 5 on my movie scale

Movie Featured:Fantastic Four
Director:Tim Story
Cast:Ioan Gruffudd as Reed Richards, Jessica Alba as Sue Storm, Chris Evans as Johnny Storm, Michael Chiklis as Ben Grimm, Julian McMahon as Victor von Doom, Laurence Fishburne as The Silver Surfer.
Genre: Action
Review Written by:Sean

One thing I usually don't say is that the sequal is better than the original but in this movie's case I will have to make that exception. Fantastic 4:ROTSS had much more action than the first one and not as much explaining the story line. The cast is about the same; only with a couple new actors. With Laurence Fishburne as the voice for the Silver Surfer the cast is really good and the story line for the movie is pretty good too. I promise not to spoil anything so I won't. I would say this one is probably a rent and if you like the movie go and buy it.

I give this movie a 4 out of 5 on my movie rating scale.

Resident Evil 3, in my opinion is a really good movie and I'm also a big fan of the other Resident Evil movies. What the movie lacks in horror it makes up for in action. The action scenes in this movie are amazing and there are a couple of suspenseful moments in the movie. This movie does surprise you from time to time and there are some funny scenes. Grant, it is a lot like the first two its still follows its own similar story line. When this movie hits shelves I suggest renting it first if you havent seen it to see if you like it or not because like I said it is similiar to the other two; but if you're a fan of the Resident Evil series then buy it.

I give this movie a 3.8 on my movie scale
